Chapter 7

Feldman heard Ariella cry out in pain. Although in another realm, searching for validation on the newest Goddess, he could sense that Ariella was in trouble. A dark, almost putrid green and black smoke surrounded him as he journeyed closer to her cries. He couldn’t sense her mates, or anyone of power coming to save her. Were her mates or her security even aware that she was in trouble?

He called out in his mind to Charity as he drew closer, and was shocked at the pain he felt, and the weak sensations of uncertainty.

Was she projecting that to him because of the danger she was in? Was she trying to tell him to stay away so he wouldn’t get hurt?

How could he? He adored her, just as he adored the others.

Feldman pulled his sword from his waist as he entered the dark room. He wasn’t sure what realm it was, just that he sensed the evil and felt Ariella’s cries turn to soft moans.

He was getting closer. Although he didn’t feel the Goddesses warning him to stay way, he thought of Bethany, his love, the Goddess of Vaneer.

In a flash he was shoved to the side, losing the grip on his sword as the evil growl echoed around him. His arms flung upward, by the power of another, then back against a wall as silver clamps cupped his wrists. He yelled out in agony. “Ariella?”

The soft, deep chuckle sent chills even through the Fae knight.

“She isn’t here yet, Fae. But she will be, and so will the others.”

He looked around, but all he could see was darkness. In his mind he called out to the princess, to Lexi, Charity, Antoinette, and Kamea. Then he prayed to the Goddesses that they would protect the newest Goddess.

He could feel the evil trying to manipulate his mind and force him to reveal her name. Feldman shook his head side to side and growled out in anger and denial to the threats and pain. “No! I will not succumb to your evil.”

He called out to the Goddesses, felt Bethany acknowledge his capture, and then he felt the emptiness.

The evil chuckle came closer.

Who would have the power, the abilities to manipulate the mind of a Fae knight and weaken him?

As the face emerged, the horns, the deep red color, and evil so pure and terrifying, Feldman closed his eyes and looked away. He knew what it was, and the fear, the reality that a demon walked the earth, and was the one responsible for all this terror, weakened his resolve. Demons were practically impossible to destroy.

“That’s right, Feldman. None of them, including you and Bethany, are powerful enough to stop me. I’ve played you all so well.”

“You failed, and you will continue to fail!” Feldman yelled. He knew he had to keep his mind clear and not give up more information unintentionally.

“How is it that you believe I failed, knight, when all three Goddesses of the ring have been revealed to me? I know who they are, where they are, who is protecting them and how to make them mine.
